Jingbo Zhao graduated from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences, Chengchun, China in 1983 and obtained pathology master degree at the same University in 1986. From 1986 to 1996, he worked as Resident, Physician-in-charge and associate professor in Department of Pathology of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China. In 1989, he visited First Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Chiba University for six months. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as visiting researcher in Biomechanics Lab, Institute of Experimental Clinical Research, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. From 1999 to 2001, he worked as associate professor in Department of Biorheology, The clinical Institute of China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China. From 2001 till now, he is research fellow in Aalborg Hospital. He received his PhD degree from Aalborg University in 2003. Jingbo Zhao currently is associate professor at Aarhus University (from 2007).
Current research interests: Biomechanics, motility and smooth muscle function in normal gastrointestinal (GI) tract and GI tract with functional disorders, such as IBS and functional dyspepsia and with systemic organic diseases, such as diabetes. Tissue remodeling in experimental and genetic disease animal models, such as diabetes, partial intestinal obstruction, inflammation, ischemia and other diseases.
